We are excited to announce that we are an official partner for World Engineering Day 2025 - an International Day proclaimed by UNESCO.
Designed to raise awareness around the role that engineering plays in modern life, World Engineering Day also serves to help ensure future generations of engineers and scientists the ability to design solutions for local and global challenges, while mitigating the impact of climate change and advance sustainable development.
To celebrate this, and mark 10 years of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 80th anniversary of UNESCO, Colt is one of the partners telling the story of how we’re contributing to the SDGs and why that’s so important to our customers, our people and our planet.
The new video, featuring Caroline Griffin Pain – Chief Legal Officer, Vivek Gaur - VP Engineering and Simone Whitfield - Customer Success Manager, looks at the IT industry's ever increasing energy consumption and emissions, which are predicted to surpass the aviation industry in the future as well as the means by which we as a company are attempting to address this issue.
These actions include building efficient infrastructure, thereby minimising power consumption and waste as well as modernising our network and incorporating intelligence into the network for smarter resource allocation. These examples serve to showcase how we as an organisation are leading by example, while hopefully inspiring others in our industry to follow suite.
