Codorníu
Traditional Spanish winemaker embraces the future with Colt’s Enterprise Cloud services
Codorníu, a winemaker and distributor and one of the oldest family-owned business in Spain, has been delighting people throughout the world with its still and sparkling wines for 5 centuries now.
Codorníu worked with ASM Web Services (ASMWS), their local IT partner. Colt’s Enterprise Cloud provides companies like ASMWS with an ideal platform for designing and implementing e-commerce and other applications for small and medium enterprises. Enterprise Cloud services allowed Codorníu to consolidate the hosting of their corporate commercial websites on a single server thus boosting the efficiency of their IT team.
Codorníu’s online store was also implemented on the Enterprise Cloud platform at Colt’s London data centre – just in time for Codorníu’s six busiest weeks during the run-up to Christmas. The application handles all the logistics associated with 400 products and distributors. Colt services also help them scale up their Internet access bandwidth to help with seasonal marketing activity and scale back down again during quieter periods to control costs.
Seasonal peaks in demand, whether related to sales or production, are now easy to handle, thanks to the elasticity of Colt’s Enterprise Cloud. Now that we’ve seen how quickly and securely we can innovate with Colt’s Enterprise Cloud, our medium-term plan is to use it as a platform for more services-Tona Monedero, CIO, Grupo Codorníu
