Colt and Oracle expands partnership supporting Fastconnect capabilities in France

To facilitate the on-going cloud migrations of enterprises globally, Colt continues to provide high bandwidth, on-demand connectivity to Oracle Cloud
Paris, France – November 9, 2021 – Colt Technology Services, a leading provider of agile, high bandwidth connectivity solutions and a member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), today announced that it will provide dedicated, private and on-demand connectivity services to the Oracle Cloud Region in Marseille via Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) FastConnect.
This most recent expansion now allows enterprises in France to take advantage of on-demand, high-speed, secure connectivity from their on-premise sites to the Oracle Cloud in Marseille. Colt’s owned fibre network in France is made up of three Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) in Paris, Lyon and Marseille, which spans to over 4,100 connected enterprise buildings and 103 connected data centres; delivering a best-in-class cloud optimised infrastructure.
Colt On Demand via OCI FastConnect provides a secure, elastic, and cost-effective way for enterprises to migrate their mission critical applications, workloads and databases from their on-premise locations in these important commercial and industrial hubs to Oracle Cloud. Also, by being underpinned by high bandwidth, low latency connectivity it ensures a more reliable and consistent cloud networking experience versus public internet-based connections.
Colt On Demand for OCI allows customers to self-provision secure, high bandwidth connectivity to Oracle Cloud regions in a matter of minutes, and enables them to dynamically scale bandwidth up or down in near-real-time. Colt On Demand for OCI is controlled by an online customer portal and consumed via a flexible, pay as you use commercial model.
This is the latest expansion of the collaboration between Colt and Oracle, which last year saw Colt extend its Colt IQ network to launch both hosted and dedicated port options via its Dedicated Cloud Access and On Demand portfolios to the Oracle Cloud regions in London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Osaka and Zurich.
With OCI, customers benefit from built-in security, consistent high performance, simple, predictable pricing, and the tools and expertise needed to bring enterprise workloads to the cloud quickly and efficiently.
Andrew Edison, EVP Sales, Marketing & CRM of Colt said: “This past year has highlighted not only the importance of agile, on-demand, high bandwidth network infrastructure, but also the wider technological ecosystem that had to rapidly come together as the world changed. Our growing partnership with Oracle is one we’re extremely proud of, as it’s seen our businesses facilitate numerous cloud transformations, which have allowed enterprises to continue to evolve in a time of great uncertainly. By adding a further Oracle Cloud region in France, Oracle and Colt will continue to support the growing needs of enterprises in these critical regions,” Edison added.
OCI’s extensive network of more than 70 FastConnect global and regional partners offer customers dedicated connectivity to Oracle Cloud regions and OCI services – providing customers with the best options anywhere in the world.
Specifically architected to meet the needs of the enterprise, Oracle Cloud is a next-generation enterprise cloud that delivers powerful compute and networking performance and a comprehensive portfolio of infrastructure and platform cloud services from application development and business analytics to data management, integration, security, artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain. With unique architecture and capabilities, Oracle Cloud delivers unmatched security, performance, and cost savings. Oracle Cloud is the only cloud built to run Oracle Autonomous Database, the industry’s first and only self-driving database.
