To facilitate the on-going cloud migrations of enterprises globally, Colt continues to provide high bandwidth, on-demand connectivity to Oracle Cloud
Frankfurt, Germany, 21 April 2020 – Colt Technology Services, a leading provider of agile, high bandwidth connectivity solutions and a member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) today announced it will provide dedicated, private and on-demand access to Oracle Cloud through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect via Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Points of Presence (PoPs) in Frankfurt.
This follows the announcement last month, that Colt was expanding its partnership with Oracle by supporting both hosted and dedicated port options via its Dedicated Cloud Access and On Demand portfolios to the Oracle Cloud in the UK.
Colt has now expanded its offering by connecting into two dedicated Oracle PoPs in Frankfurt, in both Equinix and Interxion data centres, allowing customers to take advantage of on-demand, high-speed, secure connectivity from their sites to Oracle Cloud. Colt’s cloud connectivity and On Demand proposition is underpinned by the Colt IQ Network – an 100Gbps optimised intelligent network that’s distributed to more than 900 data centres and data network connection points around the world.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect provides dedicated connectivity to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and other Oracle Cloud services. FastConnect provides an easy, elastic, and economical way for companies in Germany, as well as Austria, Spain, France, Italy, to connect to Oracle Cloud with high bandwidth and low latency, providing a more reliable and consistent networking experience versus public internet-based connections.
Colt On Demand for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure allows customers to self-provision secure, high bandwidth connectivity to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure regions in a matter of minutes, and allows them to dynamically scale bandwidth up or down in near-real-time. Colt On Demand for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is controlled by an online customer portal and purchased through a flexible, pay as you use commercial model.
Colt and Oracle announced their initial relationship in October 2018 and today, through further collaboration, Oracle customers can now benefit from reliable high bandwidth access to their Oracle Cloud data and applications globally via The Colt IQ Network.
Stephan Wanke, Regional Sales Director for the DACH region for Colt said: “Germany and the wider DACH region has always been important for Colt and this extended partnership with Oracle will allow enterprises in the region to make the most of the global connectivity ecosystem.
“As more and more businesses start to shift their business-critical applications to the cloud, connectivity will become even more crucial in ensuring that businesses run smoothly. Colt has invested heavily in ensuring it has a best-in-class network across Europe to support enterprises cloud migrations, meaning that organisations can enter the next decade in the best possible position; able to digitally evolve and thrive,” Wanke added.
“The expanded collaboration between Colt and Oracle will now enable more organizations in Germany to benefit from our FastConnect service in Frankfurt,” said Vinay Kumar, vice president, product management, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. “With FastConnect, organizations benefit from seamless, secure cloud connectivity that delivers the speed, reliability, and security that businesses need today.”
Connecting to Oracle Cloud with Colt’s on-demand service and FastConnect is a quick and easy way to start running workloads. Oracle Cloud FastConnect and Colt On Demand is a solution that gives enterprise customers the performance, compatibility and security they require to run their most demanding workloads in cloud, and easily connect them with the workloads they continue to run in their own data centres.
Oracle’s second-generation cloud is built and optimized specifically to help enterprises run their most demanding workloads securely. With unique architecture and capabilities, Oracle Cloud delivers unmatched security, performance, and cost savings. Oracle’s Generation 2 Cloud is the only one built to run autonomous services, including Oracle Autonomous Linux and Oracle Autonomous Database, the industry’s first and only self-driving database. Oracle Cloud offers a comprehensive cloud computing portfolio, from application development and business analytics to data management, integration, security, artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain.
