To all valued customers, we thank you very much for your continuous support of Colt Technology Services Co.,Ltd. We are pleased to announce that we will begin to roll out the ability to make Emergency Calls on our voice services for existing customers one by one, starting from 1 March 2019; with the following details below:

Outline

It will be possible to make Emergency Calls to each of the following emergency authorities when using Colt Voice Services:

Authority Number
Police 110
Coast Guard 118
Fire/Ambulance 119

Effective date

After March 1st, 2019 (Detailed schedule for each of the circuits will be announced separately)

Applicable services

Following Voice service products will be available for Emergency Calls:

About notice of callers’ location information

Please be noted that the following location information data is required by law to be sent to the relevant authority when an Emergency Call is made, for the purpose of such authority to identify the exact location of the caller under emergency circumstances:

  • Caller’s Telephone Number
  • Caller’s Street Address (street address where Colt Voice circuit is installed)
  • Caller’s Company Name (registered contractual name of Colt Voice circuit)

Handling of non-notified Telephone Numbers

If “184” is to be dialled for Emergency Calls, the location will not be notified to the relevant authority. However, please note that it is possible for each of the authorities to acquire the information if the authority is to decide it is required for the protection of human life.

Other related information such as applicable law, mandatory functions and conditions can be found at the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications – “Emergency Calls Function”

Other notices

  • The Emergency Calls service in principle is only available to customers whose contractual address and voice circuit termination address match. This is because the street address where Colt’s voice circuit is installed would be sent to the authority as the caller’s location information
  • Even if the circuit is applicable to generate Emergency Calls under the conditions above, please detail your location (address, building name, floor number) to the authority during the call if you are located in a business complex or data centre, in order to help the authority find your exact location quicker
  • Please note that it is the responsibility of the customer for any action or cost incurred for the customer’s PBX configuration to generate Emergency Calls
  • Please do not generate any test call to Emergency Services

Please do not hesitate to use the enquiry form or contact one of our Sales Representatives if you require any additional information.
